LEADING EDGE : Biometrics Recognition Technology

Biometric Recognition is one of the latest technologies introduced by Ontime Systems and our manufacturing suppliers. Broadly, this technology enables systems to validate identity by linking to an individual feature of a person for which a record is stored electronically within the validation unit.

One of the first systems involves the use of finger scanning whereby the image of a couple of fingers, (not fingerprints), are stored as holographic templates ready for comparison with a card holder when they try to access the system. The card or PIN transaction will only be validated if a recognised match is made with the user of the system.
